MIDDLEWICH Town will attempt to repeat a unique event on Saturday.
Last season Middlewich became the first club ever to provide both finalists in the Mid Cheshire FA Amateur Cup and at the weekend they have the chance to do the same again.
The first team, the holders, play at Northwich Vics Reserves and the second string host Witton Albion Reserves.
Town manager Terry Murphy said: 'The whole club wants us both there again and it would be nice.
'I don't know anything of Vics Reserves this season, only their manager, Ted Carthy, always puts a useful side together. But Witton Reserves are going well at the moment, so both our teams will have their work cut out - semi-finals are always hard.'
Matthew Hitchen is back from suspension for the first team, but Lee Murphy begins a seven-day ban.
Meanwhile, work at Seddon Street, both to improve the social club and bring the ground up to North West Counties League standard, is nearing completion.
For their application to the NWCL to go ahead Middlewich have to meet the criteria by April and they should meet the deadline, according to Murphy.
'If we don't get in, we don't get in. It isn't a wasted effort because our facilities will be that bit better and we'll be ready the next time,' he said.
Congleton Town have provided Middlewich with seats for the stand and Northwich with seats for the dug outs. The last Middlewich heard there were five applicants for an anticipated three NWCL vacancies. But how many places there are depends on how many clubs are promoted to the UniBond League in non-league's summer reshuffle.
