SIXTH-PLACED Runcorn Town missed the chance to break into Division One's leading four when held 1-1 at Christleton Res, who lie fifth from bottom of the 16-team division.

Midfieldman Gary Lunt was the Town scorer at Chester with Tom Rowlands netting for the hosts.

Halton and Helsby suffered postponements at Willaston and Mallaby, respectively, as only two matches in the division avoided a washout.

Runcorn Town Res are up one place to second in Division Three.

They put visitors Upton AA Res to the sword 5-0 with Paul Angell scoring four. The other goal came from Danny Cummins.

Town Res have played more than any other team in the top five places, however.

Leaders Bebington Athletic are two points clear of the Pavilions club's second string, having played four games fewer.
