RUNCORN Town completed their championship-winning Division Two campaign with their tenth successive home victory.
But they had to hold off a late fightback from hosts Chester Nomads to triumph 4-3.
Despite stretching their unbeaten run, Town were very much below par in the first half on Friday but went in level thanks to Connor Taylor's close-range equaliser.
Defenders Robbie Moore and Mike Duffy put the visitors 3-1 up before Dave Dempsey notched his team's 92nd - and last - goal of the league campaign.
Dave Parkinson then saved a Nomads penalty - and it was just as well with Dan Riley (83) and Andy Mitchell (88) supplementing Tom Sutcliffe's third-minute opener.
Runcorn Town Res thumped promotion-chasing Mersey Royal 4-1 at Pavilions.
Town had led 2-0 at the break through a close-range Danny Cummins header (10) and Andy Doyle's 20-yarder (20).
Despite Royal pulling a goal back soon after the restart, Adam Judge came out of his goal to convert the hosts' third from the penalty spot and Matty Johnson found an empty net for the fourth.
Town have, meanwhile, launched a new weekly lottery at 50p a go to replace their Football Forecast.
Entrants have to pick six numbers from one to 20 and anybody with numbers matching the six drawn on a Saturday evening will win or share that week's jackpot.
A starting jackpot of £250 this weekend will be carried over if not won.
Half the weekly takings will go to club funds and the other 50% into the following week's jackpot.
From the end of May there will also be a monthly consolation draw with a £100 prize and all entries during the month, showing five correct numbers, will be entered.
