NOW his club are out of all cup competitions, Barnton manager Nick Armitage plans to concentrate on regaining the Coors Mid-Cheshire League First Division title which they conceded to local rivals Middlewich Town last season after seven successive titles.

Armitage's team breathed new life into their prospects with a 3-0 win over Styal when goals from Kevin Towey (2) and new signing Craig Marshall earned them three points.

Barnton moved within five points of leaders Middlewich with four games in hand when the leaders drew 2-2 at Bollington Athletic.

Craig Stevens scored for Terry Murphy's team who were below their best.

Revitalised Crosfields stay in the picture in third with a rampaging 6-0 victory over lowly Poynton.

Things look bleak for Golborne Sports and Crewe FC, both are now well adrift in the two relegation spots.
