WITTON Albion go into the last week of the season clinging precariously to top spot in the UniBond League.

They were beaten at Gateshead on Monday and share the same goal difference with Burscough, but have scored more.

Witton, Burscough or Telford United will win the title - and Telford are at Wincham Park on Tuesday (7.45pm).

'It is a massive game and there will be a big gate, but it will all be decided on the last day,' said Albion boss Jim Vince. 'There may be a few more twists and turns yet.'

Witton are at Whitby on Saturday, then face Telford and end at home to Frickley Athletic. Two wins and a draw and the title is theirs.

'We have to get at least a point at Whitby. That will put pressure on the others,' said Vince.

Burscough host relegated Grantham at the weekend, while Telford visit North Ferriby. Telford host Burscough on the final day.

Striker Griff Jones (hamstring) and centre back Tony Barras (knee) are both likely to be fit for the Whitby trip.

* Northwich Vics staged a practice match against their academy youngsters on Monday to give striker Chris Williams his first football since breaking his leg against Kidderminster in August.

'He played 70 minutes and came through with flying colours,' said manager Steve Burr, but he will still be out until next season.

Vics wind down the season at Gravesend tomorrow (Thursday), at home to play-off possibles Burton on Saturday, at Rushden on Monday and at home to Stevenage next Wednesday. They close at Woking.

Monday is also the date of Stuart Elliot's FA hearing on a charge of making racist remarks to Halifax captain Tyrone Thompson on November 4.
