RIVALS Christleton and Blacon YC will aim to finally resolve their Chester Senior Cup tie tomorrow.

The second-round clash was postponed due to snow a fortnight ago and once again fell victim to the weather last Saturday.

The two teams will be hoping it is a case of third time lucky at Little Heath tomorrow. Chester Nomads will await the result with interest - as they face the winners in the next round.

In Division One last Saturday, Upton AA went fourth with a 2-0 eclipse of bottom club Newton at the Cheshire County Sports Club. The victory was secured by goals from Danny Andrews and Mike Garrod.

Upton are in Chester Senior Cup action tomorrow, playing host to Team Highfield for the right to face Saltney Vets in round three.

Christleton Reserves were in action at Halton in Division Two last Saturday but, despite goals from Lennox Beddows, John Walker and Kevin Garland, they lost 5-3.

Two-goal Gary Cottiga anchored Helsby to a welcome 4-1 decision over Pensby, and those three points saw them leapfrog Christleton Reserves in their battle to avoid relegation. Further efforts from Nick Askey and Mark Richards completed the statistics.

In Division Three, Blacon Reserves pulled off the result of the day. They claimed a 2-1 away win over leaders Manor Athletic thanks to a smart double from Will Collins.

A fine goal from Upton AA Reserves' James Robinson was not enough for the Chester side as they lost 2-1 at Bronze Social.

Following a spate of disappointing results, St Werburgh's came good in their Chester Senior Cup third-round clash with City Bar. A superb hat-trick from Liam McGovern was supplemented by further efforts from Scott Beach and Guiseppe Angiletta as Saints emerged 5-4 victors.
