TARVIN Athletic cruised into the third round of the Chester & District FA Challenge Cup with a 4-0 home win over Crossway.

John McLoughlin, Ben Harden, John Winker and Chris Ashley were all on target.

Christleton Reserves join them in the hat after a 3-2 win at Waggon & Horses OB.

In the C&C Catering Equipment Senior Cup, Chester Nomads beat Kelsall 3-1 and Christleton and St Werburgh's both clocked up eight goals at Cestrian Alex and Team Highfield respectively. In an excellent game, Upton beat Frodsham United 3-1 thanks to goals from Olly Robinson, Mark Kerr and Gareth Stevenson.

In the Premier Division, Tarporley Vics maintained their incredible winning start to the season with their 10th win out of 10. Simon Gresty, PJ Podboviskus, Rob Edge and Ben Brown all struck in the 4-0 win at home to Upton Borough.

Second-placed Hoole Rangers drew at Kydds Athletic 1-1.

Brewery Arms jumped up to third with a massive 9-1 triumph at rock-bottom Barrow Athletic. Chris Gil-martin bagged a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Chris Donnolly (2), Kevin McGovern, Glen McGovern, Leon Whitley and Mike Edwards.

In the other Premier Division game, Newton Athletic Youth beat Chester Nomads Seconds 4-3. Mark Dutton scored a hat-trick and Will Young got the other.

In Division One, Christleton A missed the chance to go top when they lost 3-1 at Chester Nomads Thirds.

Glen Hutchinson scored twice as Bank of Scotland beat struggling Barrow Athletic Seconds 2-1. Paul Monkhouse was on the mark for the visitors.

MBNA Reserves have now resigned from the league and so their game at Duddon United didn't take place.
