JORDAN HENDERSON was thrilled to collect his first winner’s medal at Wembley yesterday, but he admitted a dramatic Carling Cup final was an emotional roller-coaster.
“It was a roller coaster,” he said “a great game for the neutral to watch, but we’re overjoyed and it was an amazing feeling at the end when we won.
“I think we’ve got the rewards for taking the competition so seriously from the start. All the players have taken it seriously, the manager, everyone involved has and that’s just paid off really.
“Everyone’s buzzing at the minute.”
And Henderson hopes that the Reds can use the triumph as a platform for greater glories.
“Winning at Wembley can give us massive confidence to go on and achieve more things,” he added. “For me personally it’s been an amazing feeling and hopefully it can give us all confidence to go on and try and achieve great things.
“I thought Cardiff were great today and I feel sorry for them a little bit.
“This can definitely be a platform for more success. Hopefully there’s more to come.”
