BENTLEY Motors moved into top gear as their 2-0 win over Betley on Sunday stretched their lead at the top of the Crewe Regional Sunday League Premier Division to seven points.

John Scarlett netted both goals for The Motormen.

Faddiley stayed in touch with a 5-1 thrashing of Frog and Ferret. Dawson grabbed a hat-trick with singles from Massey and Harding completing the nap hand, while Jardine netted Frog's consolation.

After a cagey opening half-hour, there was a glut of goals between Audlem Town and Ancient Briton, with Briton coming out on top 5-4.

Cornock hit a hat-trick for the victors, who also had Caldwell and Johnson on target, while Phil Speed, Nick Jackson, Andy Blud and John Malkin netted for Audlem.

Wickstead and Wrenbury continued their climb up the table with 2-1 victories against Nantwich Young Farmers and Sydney Arms respectively.

Goals from Gidman and Forster gave Wickstead their win, while McKenzie and Blackhurst secured Wrenbury's success.

Division One leaders Elephant triumphed 6-2 against Crewe Corinthians with Hansen and Turner bagging braces and Lee and Pembroke also on target. Stuart Evans and Craig Mayman netted Corinthians' consolations.

Beeston Hotel and Belle Vue had narrow 4-3 victories against Hop Pole and The Vine respectively.

Vue trailed 3-0 down at half-time before staging a storming fightback thanks to goals from Goodall, Harvey, Pownall and Staliggs after an own goal and efforts from Ashley and Whyman had put Vine into a seemingly unassailable interval lead.

Beeston's win came courtesy of two goals from Jones and single strikes by Cunningham and Hopkins, while a Whitehead brace and a McGinley goal took Pole close.

Clay Lane remain unbeaten in the league after a 3-1 win against Salvador. Barlow, Stoller and the reliable Skupski scored for Lane with Barnes bagging Salvador's solitary reply.

Nantwich Town eased past the Peacock 5-2 with goals from Barnes, Gilbert, Lawton and a Spruce brace, while Stafford supplied both for Peacock.

Two goals from Bushill and singles from Darby and Flowers gave Fox Elworth a much-needed 4-2 victory against The Express, whose goals came from Dixon and Coyle.

In the other game in the division, Railway Hotel came from behind several times to force a 4-4 draw with AC Wickstead.

Set-piece specialist Tim Jervis inspired Railway's recovery with two penalties and a free-kick, while Steve Kay netted their other goal.
