STEVE Bleasdale will not be following Mark Wright back to Chester.

Bleasdale worked as Wright's assistant during the former England defender's first spell in charge at the Saunders Honda Stadium.

The pair joined forces again at Peterborough United in the summer.

But, after Wright was sacked on the grounds of alleged gross misconduct last month, Bleasdale took over and is now in charge of first-team affairs until the end of the season.

Wright's shock return to Chester fuelled speculation that his old right-hand man might be ready to quit London Road.

But Bleasdale said: 'I wish Chester City all the best and I am glad to see Mark Wright back in management.

'I have happy memories of my time at Chester, but I am starting my managerial career now.

'I am putting every effort into Peterborough United, a club that is special to my heart. I am fully committed to this club and I am determined to do the best for the Posh and the fantastic supporters.'
