Chester FC officials are overseeing one final push over the next few days to help the club reach its £20,000 target for Crowdfunder before the project ends at 6pm on Monday.
Fans have been making pledges and donations for the past month to boost manager Steve Burr’s budget for the 2015-16 campaign and the club remains optimistic of hitting its goal.
Volunteers are needed to assist with a bucket collection at the match with Guiseley on Monday and a range of exclusive rewards will be on sale in the club shop including mugs and clothing.
Burr has been delighted at the success of the appeal and has been looking at potential transfer targets for when he and first-team coach Jon McCarthy want to add to their squad.
And he has thanked supporters for digging deep to give him the reserves to be able to move fast should a suitable target become available.
Burr said: "It’s been a brilliant effort to get this far and it will all help. Macca and I are very grateful to everyone who has donated or helped out and we want to thank everybody for supporting us.
"It will come in very handy when we need to strengthen and allow us to go and bring someone in on loan or look at extending the deal for Dale Tonge.
"The transfer window closes next Tuesday and then it reopens a week later for emergency loans and this will enable us to look at bringing someone in but I must say I’ve been very pleased with the lads we have got, and that includes the ones who haven’t been in the team.
"The game at Woking showed what can happen with a suspension for Ben and Ross getting injured, but that presents the lads not in the team with opportunities and although disappointed, their attitudes have been great.
"The money we’ve raised through Crowdfunder will be a massive help to us this season so it would be fantastic if we could hit £20,000 and I want to thank everyone again for supporting it."
Vanarama National League rivals Grimsby Town and Lincoln City have experienced success with crowd-funding schemes this summer.
