Beechwood 3, Sidac 1: THE Runcorn side bucked the trend by staging the only Warrington & District League game not to be snowed off.

They were rewarded with the Division One points.

A largely uneventful first half saw David Jolley put the hosts in front only for Sidac to scramble an equaliser.

Beechwood started the brighter in the second half and regained the lead with a spectacular overhead kick by Alex Pill.

Beechwood's advantage was rarely threatened with keeper Mike Smith turning in a confident performance.

The victory was sealed by a late Mike Haslin goal. nIn common with all the other teams in the league, Halton Borough's matches were postponed.

The first team do not have a scheduled Division One fixture this Saturday but are hoping for a late change.

Failing this, they will hold a training session at Dundalk Road.

Borough Reserves entertain Monks Sports Res in Division Three.

All players are asked to meet at 1.30pm.

The Widnes Football Development Forum met on Tuesday this week to begin making arrangements for this year's Derek Roylance Widnes Cup Competition.
