ST Joseph's reached the Cheshire Cup semi-finals by beating much fancied Old Alts 2-1 on Sunday. Alts had knocked out Thatched Tavern earlier in the competition, but were bettered by goals from Liam Goulding and Paul Jones.

And things elsewhere also went St Joseph's way. Champions and leaders Oaklands were beaten by relegation fighters Wheatsheaf, a result that leaves St Joseph's still seven points adrift but with five games in hand.

Goals from Lewis Warren and Stuart Tulloch put Middlewich Town Supporters, fourth from bottom in Division One, very much in the promotion frame. Their victims were leaders Saxons.
