BLUES and Reds will go head to head in the name of charity as the Big Heart 5k returns to the city in September.

The annual race, which is backed by Everton legend Joe Royle, takes place on Sunday September 2 in Walton Hall Park. The event was set up four years ago in memory of Everton legend Alan Ball, and former Blues player and manager Royle is urging Toffees to sign up to help raise money for the club’s official charity, Everton in the Community.

The race will start at 10am in Walton Hall Park and runners are asked to wear their colours with pride – Blue or Red. To enter call 0151 530 5260, or visit runliverpool.org.uk.
