VAUXHALL Motors Reserves rediscovered the winning habit on Saturday as they claimed a 4-2 home victory over Ashville.
Goals from Eddie Whelan, Timmy Ojapah, Paul O'Hare and Byron Jenkins steered the Motor-men to mid-table sanctuary in Division One.
Castrol Social's derby fixture with Ellesmere Port was postponed and will now be rescheduled for a later date.
In Division Two, Capen-hurst Villa dropped another two points but were grateful for a share of the spoils from their 0-0 stale
mate at Mallaby. Their hero was keeper Dave Peace, who denied his former club with several point-blank saves.
Willaston entertained leaders West Kirby but were no match for the visitors' free-scoring forwards, who anchored their side to a 6-1 triumph. Mike Mosedale scored Willa-ston's consolation.
Willaston's second string shaped up better than their senior side in Division Three. An effort from Ian Crawford was cancelled
out by a reply from Willaston's Craig Kavanagh. Manor Athletic suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat to Blacon YC Reserves, and that opened the door for Grange Athletic to take advantage. Try as they might, however, Grange failed to break a resilient Bebington Athletic rearguard and the game fizzled out to a 0-0 draw.
Ellesmere Port Reserves' fixture with Capenhurst Villa Reserves was another postponed derby tussle.
* In Division One on Saturday, Castrol Social travel to Aintree Villa. Vauxhall Motors Reserves will feel capable of taking something from their trip to struggling Merseyside Police, while Ellesmere Port host Marine Reserves at Chester Road.
Capenhurst Villa should get a result against New Brighton Reserves in Division Two, but Willaston could be in for another siege at title favourites Runcorn Town.
Grange Athletic are at home to Runcorn Town Reserves in Division Three, while Ellesmere Port Reserves visit Bebington Athletic and Capenhurst Villa Reserves are at Willaston Reserves.
