Signing off

Thanks for joining us for today’s coverage. It’s wasn’t the result we were hoping for but a three-point haul at Cheltenham isn’t a feat too many teams have accomplished this season.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Signing off.

Praise for Hannah from Robins boss

After the BBC Gloucestershire commentators suggested that Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson may look to add players to his squad in January who have caused them problems this season, the Robins boss reserved praise for Ross Hannah following his display in the 3-1 loss at Whaddon Road. Let’s hope their strikers keep on scoring freely so they don’t need to add any more!

I thought the nine, Hannah, was dangerous today. He’s a good player

Winless run stretches to five

In contrast, Cheltenham are now unbeaten in 11. Decent fight by the Blues but problems that have dogged them this season persist. Profligate finishing a real Achilles Heel.

BBC Gloucestershire view

As tough a game as the Forest Green Rovers one. Chester will cause plenty or problems for teams in this league.

That’s that. Cheltenham go four points clear at the top. Chester have now gone five games without a victory.

Hint of a chance for Hannah

A hint of a chance for Ross Hannah as he breaks free of the defence but his touch is heavy and it rolls out of play

Time running out

No real signs of Chester being able to equalise for a second time. That said, the first one came out of nothing so there’s still hope.

To quote at BBC Gloucestershire commentator:

Ross Hannah is the single best player I have seen face Cheltenham Town for any club this season.

Familiar feeling

It’s becoming a bit of a theme this season. Chester have a chance, waste it and then the opposition go down the other end and score.

Goal! Cheltenham Town 2 Chester FC 1

An absolute killer of a goal. Wright hooks a cross over and Waters nips in between defends to poke home his second.

'Only one team in it'

That’s the view of the BBC Gloucestershire sports team.

Chester have definitely started the better of the two teams, without a doubt.

Should have scored!

Big chance

Blues go close to taking the lead. Danny Hattersley breaks into the box and his pull back finds Alex Whitmore. His first shot is cleared off the line and then following a scramble he gets a second go but Phillips saves.
