CHESTER Nomads held their end-of-season presentations on Sunday and launched a special award to honour a former player.

Tristan Cook died in a car accident last December and was a very popular figure at the club.

As a tribute to the teenager, the Tristan Oscar Cook Fair Play Award will be presented each year by his family to the under 16s team player who receives least disciplinary offences and is deemed worthy by the club's coaches.

The first recipient of this award was Matty Shorrock and it was presented by Tristan's father Haydn Cook, mother Meriel Pritchard and sisters Bryony and Tamsin Cook.

The U16s team also received their Chester and District Junior League championship trophy at Sunday's awards bash, which was held at Chester Boughton Hall Cricket Club.

Other trophies handed out were the U12s Ellesmere Port League Cup, Knockout Cup and league runners-up shield.

Nomads' U13s Colts boss Mark Miller was also given the Chester and District Junior League's Fair Play Award, voted for by opposition clubs.

* The club is looking for more players for its fledgling girls team. If you will be in school Years 7 or 8 in September and would like to play, contact Alan on 07802625163.
