CHRISTLETON finally progressed to the last eight of the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup after defeating Castrol Social at the third attempted replay on Saturday.

The match was settled 2-1 in Christleton's favour thanks to goals from Kevin Garland and Joey Desmoreaux.

Last Saturday's Division One action saw both Blacon YC and Upton AA fall to defeats.

Blacon paid Merseyside Police a visit and despite a fine goal from John Dowdridge, went down 2-1.

It was a similar tale of woe for Upton AA, who found the net three times via Mark Robinson, Danny Andrews and Lee Jackson but were eclipsed 4-3 at Vauxhall Motors Reserves.

Eden Fenlon stole the show with a hat-trick for rejuvenated Chester Nomads, who romped home 6-2 against Willaston in Division Two. Further efforts from Simon Alston (2) and Chris Suddaby made it three on the trot for Nomads.

Christleton Reserves travelled to Poulton Vics Reserves and were soundly beaten after Vics posted a 5-0 result.

In Division Three, Blacon YC Reserves scored through Paul Joiner but finished second best against Grange Athletic who emerged 3-1 victors.

Upton AA Reserves also suffered a defeat as Bebington Athletic ran out 3-0 winners.
