The Blues are flying at the moment in the Vanarama National League.

Chester FC made it six games unbeaten without conceding a goal as Oluwaseun Akintunde struck 15 minutes from time to put the Blues 10th in the league and top of the form guide.

It wasn't as pretty as the 5-0 win over Dover Athletic on Saturday but the feeling at the final whistle was just as sweet.

Here's how the players rated.

Liam Roberts - 7/10

Looked shaky early on but grew in strength and produced a superb stop to deny Danny Clarke from opening the scoring for the home side.

Johnny Hunt - 7/10

Another good game for the left back. He was never caught ought and always full of running and constantly talking to the back line.

Ryan Astles - 7/10

A broken wrist can't keep the big man down. Won everything in the air and was, as always, a dominant force.

Sam Hughes - 7/10

Struggled slightly early on but got better and better. The teenager was superb in the second half, winning every aerial battle.

Theo Vassell - 6/10

A solid game for the right back who will be frustrated to not have put the game out of sight after blazing over from close range late on.

Tom Shaw - 5/10

Was visibly struggling after picking up a knock early in the first half and was substituted at the break.

Kane Richards

Ryan Lloyd - 6/10

Another to come off at half time through injury, Lloyd had looked bright in spells in the first half.

Craig Mahon - 6/10

Worked tirelessly but often found himself quickly surrounded by green shirts and wasn't able to have the kind of impact he did against Dover.

Elliott Durrell - 6/10

Was busy throughout and always looking for the ball but failed to find the killer pass. Worked hard for the cause and occupied the home defenders.

Kane Richards - 6/10

Worked hard but it wasn't really his night. Tried to link up with Akintunde as best he could but they were often on different wavelengths. Taken off late on.

Oluwaseun Akintunde - 7/10 STAR MAN

While maybe not the best player on the pitch, Akintunde was the Chester player most likely to make a breakthrough and his blistering pace frightened the life out of the home defenders and fans. Took his goal really well.

Substitutes

Wade Joyce (on for Tom Shaw - 46 minutes) 6/10

Stuck to his task and rolled his sleeves up to stop the midfielders from breaking.

Luke George (on for Ryan Lloyd - 46 minutes) 6/10

Did well to strengthen the centre of the park and worked hard for the cause in the second half.

James Alabi (on for Kane Richards - 66 minutes) 6/10

Should have scored late on after good work from Akintunde but linked up well with his strike partner for the final 25 minutes.
