CHESTER CITY have completed the signing of the York City wing back Darren Edmondson, and the player can't wait for the new season to begin.
"This is an extremely exciting time at this football club, the club is buzzing and everything is geared towards success," he said..
"There are a lot of quality players here, and it was an easy decision for me to join the club."
The 32-year-old Cumbrian continued: "Over the past few years, clubs that have been promoted from the Nationwide Conference have done extremely well in the Football League, and the likes of Rushden and Doncaster Rovers have gained promotion, and there is no reason why we can't either."
Edmondson, who started his career with Carlisle United before spells at Huddersfield Town and York, will be unveiled to the Chester public next Saturday when City entertain Walsall at the Deva Stadium in their first pre-season friendly of the summer.
City boss Mark Wright has signed nine new players during the closed season, and most will be on view during the weekend game against the Midlanders.
Wright is currently sifting through applications for the vacant physiotherapist's position at the Deva Stadium. "We are looking for a certified physio and we have had a number of people enquiring about the job and we are still accepting applications, but we must make a decision fairly quickly," said Wright.
Meanwhile, Chester have received their reserve team fixture schedule for next season.
City, who have joined the Pontins Holiday League, start their campaign with a home game against Macclesfield Town on Wednesday August 18.
