Who's playing?

Nantwich Town v Chester FC .

When and where?

Tuesday, July 26 (7.30pm) at the Weaver Stadium , Waterlode, Nantwich, Cheshire CW5 5BS.

Any team news?

After fielding a team of trialists and young fringe players in the 5-3 win at Marine on Saturday , Chester boss Jon McCarthy will likely use the clash with the Dabbers as a first-team excercise.

McCarthy will also use the game to take a further look at some of those trialists who have caught the eye and remain in contention, with James Akintunde likely to get a chance to test himself against stronger opposition this evening following his first-half hat-trick at Marine.

Trialist Wade Joyce didn't feature at Marine but will likely be involved against the Dabbers this evening as he seeks to earn himself a permanent deal at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

Goalkeeper Liam Roberts, who suffered concussion in training a fortnight ago, should play some part.

Tell me about Nantwich Town...

The Dabbers started last season well in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League but fell away after Christmas to finish the season in eighth place.

Manager Phil Parkinson has improved the club's fortunes since taking over last year and led the club to the FA Trophy sem-final last season where they were eventually beaten by FC Halifax Town. Nantwich had beaten Dover Athletic en route to the last four.

Any players to watch out for?

The club have, though, lost a number of key players during the summer with Jon Moran moving to Forest Green Rovers, Elliott Osbourne to Fleetwood Town and one-time Chester target Matty Kosylo switching to Halifax.

The do, however, possess much quality in their ranks and will likely include ex-Crewe Alexandra man and Northern Ireland international Steve Jones in the line up as well as summer signing Ibou Touray, who spent a spell at Chester during the 2014/15 season.

Another familiar face to Chester fans will be winger Wayne Riley, who also played for the club during 2014/15. Riley signed for the Dabbers this summer following a spell in the Welsh Premier League with Airbus UK Broughton.

What happened the last time the two sides met?

The last time the two met competitively a crowd of 3,560 watched Chester held to a 1-1 draw at home to the Dabbers in the Evo-Stik Norther Premier Division in January 2012.

Michael Lennon had given Nantwich a surprise 1-0 lead but Antoni Sarcevic earned a point for the Blues with a leveller almost immediately from the restart.

The two sides did clash during pre-season in 2013 when Chester earned a 3-1 home win over the Dabbers thanks to goals from Craig Lindfield, George Horan and Gareth Seddon.
