VAUXHALL MOTORS have captured highly-rated central defender Steve McNulty from UniBond Premier Division club Burscough.

The new signing is expected to make his Motors debut away to Hinckley United tomorrow night, in a rear-ranged Nationwide North fixture.

McNulty, 21, has spent the last 16 months with Burscough having been released by Liverpool two summers ago, and has earned rave reviews and many admirers during his time with the Linnets.

The Victoria Park club had previously turned down offers for the player, but with his contract with due to run out at the end of the current season and despite making an improved offer to him, he wanted to try his luck at a higher level.

Motors manager Owen Brown had made no secret of his admiration for McNulty and is delighted to have gained his signature.

The newcomer seems certain to be given his debut at Hinckley as the Motormen will be without injured duo James Glendenning and Peter Cumiskey.
