VAUXHALL are looking forward to a hat-trick of big arrivals at Rivacre Park in the shape of Mersey giants Everton and Liverpool and the on-loan return of Crewe defender Mark Roberts.
An Everton XI arrive at Rivacre Park tonight (7.30) in a game brought forward 24 hours from its original kick-off. Although the Toffees are expected to name mainly a reserve team, it is still the first time a Premiership club has sent a representative side to Vauxhall's ground.
The Motormen have also announced that Liverpool FC are to follow suit with their neighbours and bring an XI to Rivacre Park on Friday, July 30 (7.30pm).
Manager Owen Brown has revealed that he is hoping to bring towering centre-half Mark Roberts back to Rivacre Park in time for their Nationwide North opener next month.
Roberts, 20, spent a hugely successful loan spell from Crewe Alex between January and April, and his commanding displays at the back were a major factor in Vauxhall securing qualification for the new Conference division.
Brown said: 'We have a good relationship with Crewe and we expect Mark to return, initially on a three-month loan.'
Tomorrow (7pm), Vauxhall's West Cheshire League side will face Lucas Sports at Rivacre Park in a memorial match for Mark Pearson, who played for both clubs. Mark's family has donated a trophy and the event will become an annual contest.
Vauxhall are looking for more stewards for Nationwide North games next season. For more details, see Len Jones on a matchday or at training at Rivacre Park (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7pm).
