RUNCORN Town's first-team manager Garry Moore has quit for personal reasons.
He resigned on Saturday but is staying on as a committee member to try to help move the Carlsberg West Cheshire League club forward.
The committee thank Moore for his achievements at the club, and wish him luck in any future positions.
Moore had been under suspension from the league after being unable to attend a disciplinary hearing over his sending off in a game last January.
Reserve team manager John Crompton will take temporary charge of the first team, with Dave Leach filling a similar role with the reserves.
Runcorn Town 0 Ain-tree Villa 0 (After extra-time): Runcorn's makeshift team stuck together to earn a Pyke Cup replay after caretaker boss John Crompton was let down by a couple of absentees.
Should they go through, Town would be pitched against WCL Division One leaders and Pyke Cup holders Vaux-hall Motors Reserves on Saturday, November 19.
Town were hindered when an unpunished foul on Kev Ward resulted in the striker's withdrawal after just three minutes.
And they played the last 15 minutes of normal time and the extra half hour with 10 men when Darren Moore was given his marching orders for retaliation.
Town's Andy Murphy had pulled off a fine full-length save while later in the first half, Lee Evans had to clear under pressure.
At the other end, Mick Garland fired wide, man-of-the-match Ian Cocks saw a shot blocked on the line and just before half time Moore's free-kick went inches wide.
The second half saw Runcorn open well and although they never created much in the final third, Martin Molyneux struck a post.
Runcorn were forced to play with just one up front in extra-time but Molyneux almost put them in front.
Manweb 1 Runcorn Town Res 3: Town Reserves completed their first double of the WCL Division Two season.
John Neary and Iain Lancaster bossed mid-field as Runcorn dominated.
Darren Mayers hit a post before Neary scored in the 39th minute.
With half time approaching, top scorer Ged Bushell added a second from a long-range free-kick.
Within five minutes of the restart, Bushell slotted home his 13th goal in as many games this season. But the visitors switched off with Manweb scoring within 30 seconds through Ronan Kelly. nRuncorn Town go to third-placed Heswall on Saturday in WCL1 (ko 3pm).
