LOOKING for their third straight away win to mark a remarkable first year in charge, Carl Macauley's Vauxhall side began strongly on Saturday and took a deserved lead after nine minutes.
Brian Moogan's free kick almost caught out home keeper Daniel Lewis, who could only partially palm away his effort.
Stuart Whittaker was on hand to turn home the loose ball for his second goal in as many games.
The Moors levelled five minutes later when Moogan clipped the heel of Dave Morrison inside his own area. Darren Middleton converted the resultant spot kick into the far left corner beyond the despairing dive of Sean Lake.
The Motormen appeared to have retaken the lead on 19 minutes through Thomas Field, who swept home a perfect cross from Thomas Rooney from the right, but an offside flag perplexed everyone in the ground by ruling the goal out.
The hosts grabbed the lead on 36 minutes when Phil Trainer sold a dummy to Alan Griffiths before firing home an angled drive and things got worse for Motors when Dale Anderson was allowed to run clear through the heart of the visitors de-fence to give the home club a 3-1 interval advantage.
Motors poured forward on the resumption, going close through John Lawless and Lee Furlong, but it wasn't until the 77th minute that captain Stephen McNulty fired home a penalty after substitute Gary Martindale had been pushed in the area chasing another brilliantly palmed save by Lewis from another Moogan blockbuster to reduce the deficit.
This was the signal for Motors to throw caution to the wind in an effort to retrieve something from the game, but their fragile defence conceded further goals from home substitutes Daniel Davidson (84) and Pete Faulds in injury time, to give the hosts a rather flattering victory.
