MIDDLEWICH might have moved to within three points of Barnton, but were still pleased with their comeback from two goals down.
An error by 18-year-old keeper Paul Simpson, who was dispossessed inside his own area, and another defensive slip shortly after put Styal in command.
But Middlewich showed a battling side to their character and Ryan Broadhead headed them back into contention from an Adam Morris cross, before David Dale's striker's instincts sorted out some confusion inside the penalty area.
'The game was a good advert for the league,' said Middlewich boss Terry Murphy. LOSTOCK Gralam picked up their eighth point of the season in a 2-2 home draw with Gamesley.
Just two months ago, Lostock leaked six goals to the same opponents but the story was different this time. Manager Steve Carter decided to pack the midfield and starve the visitors of possession.
Gamesley were frustrated by lack of space as Lostock started with a bang and found themselves two up in the first five minutes.
Pete Gibbon, whose transfer from Middlewich came through in time, showed a neat back-heel to Birtles in the first minute, who floated a delightful ball for Full-wood to score with a stunning volley. Birdseye helped Clarke to the second but, after the break, Gamesley's pressure paid off.
