THE fourth annual charity match for the Daniel Foulkes Memorial Shield took place at Vauxhall Motors Sports & Social Club on Saturday.
A last-minute Liam Jameson goal gave Vauxhall U15s a 1-0 victory over a Princes Villa Select U15s.
Daniel was a talented 14-year-old Ellesmere Port footballer who was tragically killed by a speeding motorcyclist in 2001.
His dad Steve said: 'Saturday's game was very successful and we raised £721 for Miles of Smiles, through holding a raffle and selling programmes.
'The game was very entertaining and of a high standard, with several school of excellence players involved.
It's always a very emotional day for the family but it's getting bigger each year and we thoroughly enjoyed it.'
Steve and Daniel's mum Lesley also wish to offer a special thank you to Cath and Ian Jones, who organised the event.
