Mark Wright has been announced as the new manager of Chester City FC.

This will be Wright's third spell with the club as manager - having previously guided the Blues out of the Conference in 2004.

The Chronicle understands that Wright will not take control of the team for tomorrow's clash with Morecambe at the Deva Stadium, which will be left to current caretaker manager Wayne Allison.

Wright replaces Simon Davies as manager, who was sacked by the club on Monday following a string of poor results, culminating in an FA Cup First Round defeat to Millwall last weekend.

More on this story will be posted to ChesterChronicle.co.uk as we get it.
