LIVING in Southport, it was clear to me that if they had managed to hold on to Mark Wright, they would be heading up into the Football League now.
However, Mark is now at Chester and deserves a tremendous amount of credit for masterminding their climb back from the Nationwide Conference.
People forget just how difficult that league is to get out of, even with the play-off system now, but to do it with automatic promotion is a real feather in everyone's cap.
The people behind the scenes have given their manager fantastic support financially and mentally and that has enabled him to have a real go at winning the title.
I am sure they will now go on and more than hold their own in Division Three and they could go higher.
