DESPITE fielding a depleted team again, Malpas swamped Winsford Reserves 7-0 in a Division Two match on Wednesday night.
Hit by injuries, holidays and unavailability, manager Tommy Lloyd played himself and brought on reserve team manager Andy Earle as a substitute and still proved too strong for the visitors.
Malpas, held to a goalless draw by league newcomers Club AZ on Saturday, took the lead through Ben Briscoe, who was later pulled down in the area by the Winsford goalkeeper, and Sam Digby doubled the lead from the penalty spot.
Rob Clarke gave Malpas a 3-0 interval lead and another Clarke goal and two more Digby strikes, to complete his hat-trick, hit Winsford for six before Earle rounded off the scoring.
Said Lloyd: 'We were very solid all-round and never looked in trouble. It was very encouraging considering how many players were missing.'
Malpas visit Macclesfield tomorrow to meet Sidac Sports.
