CARL Regan is looking forward to coming up against his old club next season.
The 26-year-old defender - released by Chester boss Mark Wright in May - this week signed a one-year deal with the Blues' Cheshire rivals Macclesfield Town.
Former Everton, Hull and Barnsley man Regan said: 'I joined Macclesfield because Brian Horton is a good manager and I was impressed by the team's performance last year when they beat us (Chester) on New Year's Eve.
'I'm definitely looking forward to playing against my old team this season. It will be an interesting game as there's a lot of history between the two clubs.'
Macc boss Horton added: 'I've been watching Carl since he played for Everton. He can play in a number of positions and is a great utility player. He'll fit in very well in the squad we have.'
