MARTIN KELLY insists he is fit and raring to go against Manchester United at Anfield tomorrow.

The Liverpool right-back was sent home from England Under-21s duty last week with a tight groin but has played a full part in training ahead of the showdown with the champions.

Kelly is hoping to retain his place at the expense of Glen Johnson who has recovered from a hamstring injury.

“I came back from the England squad as a precaution with a tight groin,” he said.

“That’s fine now and I trained on Monday, had Tuesday off and was back in on Wednesday.

“I’m looking forward to what will be a really tough test for the team. If we play how we’ve been playing at Anfield, we’ve got a great chance.

“We know how good we are, we believe in ourselves and so do the fans.”

Kelly could find himself up against flying winger Ashley Young but that prospect holds no fear for the youngster.

“Everyone knows how good Ashley Young is, but at the end of the day he’s just like any other footballer – he’s only human,” Kelly added.

“Of course, coming up against him will be tough, but it’s not only Ashley Young – you’re playing against 10 other world-class players too.”

Meanwhile, Stewart Downing hopes the international break won’t affect Liverpool’s momentum.

“It’s a tough game but we’ll look forward to it and if we keep playing the way we are then we’ve got a chance of beating anyone,” said Downing.”
