THE Liverpool FC Official Guide for 2011 is the latest annual for all Reds fans.

Resident LFC statisticians Ged Rea and Dave Ball’s work still feature prominently, giving the readers a whole host of facts and stats to get themselves stuck into (the foreword is also written by them), but this year’s guide sees the cup section included in previous editions makes way for more analysis and new content.

The ‘diary of the summer’ is documented from the June 1 to the August 31 and includes the departure of former manager Rafa Benitez, Roy Hodgson’s arrival and the signing of Joe Cole.

Last season’s campaign is covered in great length, both domestically and the two European competitions Liverpool were involved in last season.

The six-year reign of the departing Rafa Benitez is also reflected on, as well as the addition of the ‘Manager Records’ dating way back to John McKenna’s four year stint as boss from 1892-1896.

Included for this year’s guide is a ‘For Club or Country’ International section, which may have been inspired by Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina becoming the first Liverpool players since 1966 to win the World Cup.

The section showcases the Liverpool players who have represented their country at all 16 World Cup finals, and includes some long forgotten names such as Glenn Hysen, Peter Cormack and Harry Chambers.

Part football annual, part encyclopedia, the Official Guide 2011 is a must for Reds fans who love to pour over the facts and stats.
