ROY HODGSON will hand senior international debuts to Liverpool teenager Raheem Sterling and Everton midfielder Leon Osman this evening.

The England boss has confirmed his starting line-up for tonight's friendly match with Sweden in Stockholm, with the Merseyside duo in line to win their first caps.

Sterling will line up alongside Manchester United duo Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young in attack, becoming, at 17 years and 341 days, England's third-youngest post-war debutant. Only Theo Walcott and Wayne Rooney have represented their country at a younger age in that period.

By contrast, Osman, 31, will be the third-oldest debutant since 1954, lining up in midfield along with skipper Steven Gerrard and Tom Cleverley.

There is further Merseyside interest in defence, where Liverpool's Glen Johnson and Everton's Leighton Baines will start in the full-back positions. Phil Jagielka will be amongst the substitutes, as Hodgson hands a first cap to Tottenham centre-back Steven Caulker.
