DANIEL AGGER believes he is reaping the rewards of a full summer’s training.

The 26-year-old has played every minute of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign so far and has been in excellent form.

But Agger’s Anfield career has been dogged by fitness trouble and the Danish international suffered a further set-back when sustaining a knee injury at the back end of the last campaign.

Yet, having worked diligently over the close season, the centre half has made a strong start and believes his very best form is still to come.

“The fact I got the full pre-season has helped me a lot,” said Agger.

“I feel a lot stronger, a lot better, but I still have more to come, hopefully.

“I feel I can give some more, have more to offer, so hopefully I can carry on playing games.

“Fitness-wise I am happy right now, but as the season carries on you get more games under your belt and you get stronger, quicker and better.”

Agger has been first choice so far this season and even though in fine form, he knows the signing of Sebastian Coates presents serious opposition to his place.

But the former Brondby player has welcomed the Uruguayan’s addition to the Liverpool squad and has backed him to adapt quickly to life in the Premier League.

“I haven’t seen too much of him yet, but he’s a big, strong guy and I hope he will be well suited to the Premier League,” said Agger.
