LIVERPOOL Ladies have released 10 players following the end of a disappointing Women’s Super League season.

Vicky Jones, Alex Culvin, Nicki Harding, Danielle Lea, Amie Flemming, Kelly Jones, Sophie Jones, Cheryl Foster, Emily Gielnik and goalkeeper Aroon Clansey have all left the club. Having inherited a squad who finished bottom, coach Matt Beard is looking to bring in fresh talent for the new year.

That process started recently with the signing of USA international defender Whitney Engen.

Beard said: “I would like to thank each player for their commitment since my appointment in August.

“It was a tough decision but the squad needs rebuilding and I wish each and every player the best in the future.”
