BARNTON don their England kit again this week to bid for more Euro glory.

They leave for Bosnia on Saturday for another round of qualifiers in the UEFA Regions Cup.

If they repeat their triumph in Slovenia, Barnton will be through to next year's finals.

They play Bosnia on Monday, the Republic of Ireland on Wednesday and San Marino on Friday.

Manager Nick Armitage said: 'I am still pinching myself, I still can't quite believe what is happening to us.

'It's fantastic. I am quietly confident - think what a massive thing it would be for our club, the village, the town and the league if we got through.'

Barnton won the FA Systems Cup last season under the Mid Cheshire League banner. They then became England for the Regions Cup preliminary group - and they will again be given the superstar treatment by the FA in Bosnia.

Indeed, Armitage has already been flown to Bosnia to check out facilities, venues and the opposition.

Reach the finals, say the FA, and you will get a 10-day trip to the host country and a four-day training camp in Austria, too.

'We took in a game which included several of the Bosnian team. They look a similar standard to Slovenia, who we beat.

'The Republic have drawn with Northern Ireland, as we did, so I am expecting competition of the same level as before and that is the way.

'I am looking forward to being there - and getting it won.'

They would return heroes but the squad is making the trip alone.

Bosnia is not a tourist area and Barnton will be based near the Serbian border. The venture comes only eight weeks after the Slovenia group so they will be virtually unsupported.

'If we get through, there will be 200 at the finals,' said assistant manager Mark Warburton.

'We stand a good chance. Trying to keep the players focussed is the hard bit. But we want to win it for the supporters and officials - like president Bill Perrin, who can't go - as much as for ourselves.'

Barnton's Cheshire Cup tie with Building Boards at the weekend was filmed by the BBC for Friday's North West Tonight.

On the team front, midfielder Aidan Brodigan has had to withdraw because of family reasons and is replaced by Ian Whitfield. Reserve goal-keeper Dave Smith has broken two fingers and Craig Clare (Crosfields) stands in, while striker David Dale has still not recovered from a knee injury which stopped him from going to Slovenia.
