PROBLEMS are piling up for Runcorn FC Halton as they search for an overdue win - and their first away from home - at Guiseley this Saturday.

Winger Shaun Whalley, a surprise omission from Saturday's 4-2 UniBond League Premier Division home defeat by leaders North Ferriby United, starts a three-game suspension after his dismissal at Blyth.

He will miss also miss Tuesday's rearranged trip to AFC Telford United (ko 7.45pm) and the next home match against Lincoln United on Saturday, November 5.

Although official confirmation has not yet been received, the Linnets also expect to be without Colin Flood for the Lincoln game after his sending off for two bookable fouls against North Ferriby.

Just to compound selection worries, assistant player-boss Paul Burns has been to hospital for X-rays on a foot injury.

But David Ness rejoined training at Fitness First on Tuesday and should be fit for this weekend after being laid low by flu.

With Australian international defender Jason Van Blerk and midfielder Darryl Allen having left the club, the search for new faces will only have intensified as the second-from-bottom Linnets look for their first win in 10 outings.
