WITTON Albion increased their number of pre-season signings to seven on Saturday.

Andy Lee, a left-sided midfielder who was with Droylsden last season, joined the recruits and made his debut in the friendly at Nantwich Town.

Lee served under Gary Finley at Aberystwyth and the Albion manager attempted to sign him last season.

There may be an eighth and final signing and it could be Robbie Moore, centre back with Runcorn last season, who also played at Nantwich, fresh from trials at Northwich Vics.

Finley said: 'We have lots of options in all departments and our biggest problem will be keeping the players happy.

'There is only centre back causing me concern, because Brian Pritchard is on holiday until just before the season starts. I have that to consider.'

Moore won three player of the year awards at Runcorn last season and also partnered another Finley signing, Tom Spearitt, in the Conference North.

Witton's other signings are central midfielder Liam Maguire, who was at Marine last term and is ex-Southport; left back Ian Latham, from Chester, who spent an impressive spell on loan at Wincham Park last season; Adam Carden, a Runcorn winger briefly with Witton previously; Southport striker Mark Peers; and highlyrated goalkeeper Jon Kennedy, from Accrington Stanley.

Other than last night's Mid Cheshire Senior Cup final against Northwich Vics, Witton don't get into competitive action until August 20 and have friendlies over the next two Saturdays at Lancaster City and TNS.
