Hucknall Town 1 Vauxhall 1

ALAN Griffiths struck a stunning 89th-minute free-kick to grab ten-man Vauxhall a point.

Vauxhall fell behind to Andy Todd's second-half header, and their problems were compounded when Darren Wright was sent off for dissent on 83 minutes.

But Griffiths powered home his 20-yard free-kick with a minute to go to earn Vauxhall a much-needed point in their quest for Nationwide North survival.

Vauxhall were captained by Carl Nesbitt (pictured), who made his 500th appearance for Motormen.

The hard-working midfielder, a shift worker at the Vauxhall plant, made his debut for the club in August 1994.

Apart from one short spell with Curzon Ashton, he has been a regular in the side as the club has made its meteoric rise up the non-league ladder.

An award is to be made to Nesbitt prior to the next home fixture, against Barrow, on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Vauxhall: Dittmer, Woodyatt, McDermott, Glendenning, McNulty, Grazier, Nesbitt, Lawton, Wright, Olsen, Griffiths.

Substitutes: Noone, Spellman, Duffy, Macauley, Cumiskey.

Vauxhall travel to struggling Ashton United for a league clash on Saturday.
