LACHE Athletic came from behind to win a ding-dong Chester Sunday League Cup fourth-round clash by the odd goal in seven.

Visitors Saltney Ferry enjoyed a 2-0 lead at the break, but goals by Stu Chesworth, Kev McGovern, Chris Melia and Andy Hadyn put Lache through.

In the other tie, goals by Ian Hastings (2) and Paul Hollyfield earned a 3-1 win for FC Boughton at Spital Vaults, who had Matt Riley on target.

There was a stormy Aldford Glass Cup fourth-round tie at Shell Swan, who edged past Wheelwright Arms in a 10-goal thriller by 6-4. Wheelwrights were 2-0 up at one stage and had three men sent off late in the game.

Mail Social kept their Section A title hopes alive with a 1-0 win at Deva Social, while Gamekeeper had a 5-1 win at Upton YC (Gary Jones) with goals by Mike Moran, Danny Andrews (2), Ollie Robinson and Dave Roberts.

Bottom club Dee Rangers collected a valuable point in their Section B match at home to Duddon and could have won but for a penalty miss by Andy Bennion. Alan Finnigan (2) and Mike Appolonio netted for Rangers who trailed 2-0 at the break, while Ben Briscoe, Richie Moss and Shaun Marsh replied.

Leaders Waverton came a 4-1 cropper at Piper, who scored all their goals in the first half, through Tim Dean (2), Phil Harland and Richie Murphy. The visitors' reply was from Chris Farrell after the break.

Pace Telecom edged closer to the top with a 2-0 home win against Tarvin Rex, with goals by Robbie Connelly and Phil Folder, while Ship Victory's improvement continued with an 8-0 thrashing of Red House, thanks to Jamie Moss (2), Dan Stevenson, Luke Jackson (2), Adam Pickett and Steve Bostock (2).

Stanley Arms had an own goal to thank for their 3-2 win at ROB Frodsham (Paul Davies, Alan Holmes), with Mo Gomez and Matty Green netting the other goals.

Dee Miller strengthened their title hopes in Section C with a 4-2 win at Corner Pin (James Andrews, Darren Burgess), but Vicars Cross kept in touch with a 7-1 victory at Egerton Arms (Aaron Needham), with five goals from Mark Thompson and further strikes by Ben Billington and Paul Lloyd.

Boathouse's struggles continued with a 7-0 home whipping by Custom House, Dave Felding (3), Keith Fawcett (3) and John Cain doing the damage.

Tattenhall won 5-3 at Chester City ISA (Graeme Reynolds, Mark Howell, og) and Black Dog (Andy Lightfoot, Andy Austin 2) were held to a 3-3 draw at home by Red Lion.

Bache trailed 3-0 at the break at St Werburgh's (og, Carl Fowley, Rob Graham) but hit back for a point, thanks to Gulzar Delat (2) and Kevin Young.
