HOOLE Rangers keeper Chris Kendal did a Paul Robinson on Saturday by scoring from his own half.

Spurs keeper Robinson hit the headlines for his 80-yard wonder goal against Watford at White Hart Lane.

But Kendal matched the England international's feat by scoring in Hoole's Chester Challenge Cup semi-final at The King's School.

Unlike Robinson, Kendal ended up on the losing side as Hoole were beaten 4-1 by Waggon and Horses. Danny Davies, Lee Wheeler (2) and an own goal sealed the Blacon side's win.

In the other last-four clash, also at The King's School, City Bar took Premier Division side Highfield all the way before bowing out of the competition.

Gary Didbury scored for City Bar to cancel out a goal from Highfield's Ross Broadbent and take the game to extra time. With the two sides inseparable after 120 minutes, a penalty shoot-out was required and Highfield held their nerve to win 4-2.

In Group A of the Chris Courtenay Williams-Tom Gerraghty Memorial Trophy, two away sides won 3-2.

Parkgate travelled to Barrow Athletic and, despite goals from Barrow's Danny Blake and Jeff Wood, the visitors claimed the points.

Kelsall performed a similar heist on Crossway, who saw Aaron Edwards and Steve Gore on the scoresheet as they lost.

In Group B, Sutton Way Villa remain top of the table after Anthony Biddle, Mike Williams and Steve Armitage scored to inflict a 3-1 defeat on Ashton Lions.

Rangers Breaks travelled to Blacon YC Colts and won 1-0.

In the Premier Division, Chester Nomads 2nds scored through Rob Kenningly and Si Law but still lost 5-2 to Castrol Social.

Kydd's Athletic had goalscorer Adam Newbolt to thank for their 1-0 win over Tarvin Athletic, while Cestrian Alex continued their promotion drive with a 3-1 victory over AFC

Bebington. Will Kelly, Richard Deponeo and Adi Gough did the honours, while their hosts could muster only a Chris Oakley strike.

Chester Nomads 3rds stunned Bank of Scotland with a 3-1 away win. Tony Lozano, Chris Parry and Daralut Gulzar were all on target for Nomads. Glen Hutchinson scored for the Bankers.

In Division Two, Jonathan Clark's goal gave Boughton Athletic a point against Runcorn Albion at the bottom of the table as the two strugglers drew 1-1.
