John Aldridge: ESPN commentator Jon Champion was out of order

I’VE got to say the commentary during Liverpool’s FA Cup tie at Mansfield was an absolute joke.

I wasn’t surprised that ESPN released a statement saying they had reprimanded Jon Champion after he described Luis Suarez’s accidental handball as “the work of a cheat”.

He also had a go at Suarez for kissing his wrist in celebration as if the striker was having a laugh at Mansfield’s expense. But we all know Suarez does that every time he scores because his daughter’s name is tattooed there.

I hope Champion regrets what he said.
