THE return of Daniel Sturridge made a big difference against Swansea.

Liverpool certainly look a much more dangerous side with Sturridge alongside Luis Suarez. It’s just a pity he can’t play in the Europa League.

Sturridge’s movement is good and he holds the ball up so well – even better than Suarez. You can fire balls into him and it sticks which I love to see. It doesn’t bounce off him as his control is so good.

That enables the likes of Steven Gerrard and Suarez to get up in support and helps Liverpool play in the opponent’s half.

Sturridge is at a club now where he feels loved. With the exception of his loan spell at Bolton, I don’t think that’s happened for him before.

It was good captaincy by Gerrard to let Sturridge take that penalty on Sunday. The game was won and Sturridge deserved a goal for his display.

It’s important to keep your strikers ticking over.
