WHATEVER happens at Villa Park on Sunday it’s a win-win situation.

There are advantages to being in Europe and advantages to being out of it.

It looks like fifth place has gone but it wouldn’t surprise me if there was another twist on the final day.

Birmingham City are fighting for their lives and are certainly capable of getting something at White Hart Lane. Spurs’ home form isn’t great but all Liverpool can do is focus on beating Villa. If Birmingham get a point and we win we’ll get fifth on goal difference.

It won’t be easy at Villa. They had a great result at the Emirates and they’ve got an excellent goal scorer in Darren Bent.

Gary McAllister is a top man who is hugely popular with Reds fans.

He’s done a great job filling in for Gerard Houllier and he could end up getting it full-time this summer.

Liverpool will need to step up a gear from the display against Spurs.
