JAMES McFadden could have joined boyhood heroes Celtic last October but opted to return to Goodison instead.

It's an indication of the affection he holds for the Toffees, and his hopes he could still have made it in the Premier League.

Unfortunately it didn't quite work out, and the Scot is back on the trial circuit after being released in May.

Today could see him possibly line-up for Motherwell against David Moyes' men at Fir Park.

I'm sure all Evertonians hope Faddy does well enough to convince Celtic's Neil Lennon he is worth signing at the second time of asking, and that a likeable, unassuming player doesn't regret his last stab at an Everton career.
