AIRBUS UK want to change their name in a bid to attract more supporters to the Airfield.

The club have already been given permission to become known as Airbus UK Broughton by the Welsh Premier League and now they need the go-ahead from the FA of Wales.

The Wingmakers averaged 152 supporters a match last season - a figure bosses want to improve on in the new campaign. And they feel the best way of doing that is by identifying with the village in which the club is based, Broughton.

Airbus chair man Mick Mayfield: 'We've been trying to think of ways to get more people through the gates and helping out with the club and that is why we've asked the FAW if we can change our name to Airbus UK Broughton.

'We are a Broughton club and we feel our name needs to recognise that fact.

'We need to get the village involved so hopefully a name change will help, and we'll also be going around the village handing out leaflets telling people about what's going on at the club.'
