CHESTER City bid to extend their three match unbeaten run to-night, when they face League Two leaders Walsall at the Deva.

But Chester's cause hasn't been helped by a lengthy injury list.

Definitely ruled out are central defenders Paul Linwood (knee), Sean Hessey (thigh), and Phil Bolland (shoulder), while the experienced Ashley Westwood is trying to shake off a hamstring injury.

Boss Mark Wright said: "T he injury problems couldn't have come at a worse time, but the fact we are playing the leading side should act as a great incentive to the players who are involved."

Wright added: "We have to show the sort of spirit and commitment that we have shown in our last three matches.

"The players have set a high standard in recent weeks, and Graham (Barrow) and myself insist that the squad sustain those levels of performance.

"There could be opportunities for players who haven't been involved that much this season, so if players do come into the squad, it is up to them to prove to us that they deserve to stay there."

City failed to complete the loan signing of the Lincoln City midfield player Ryan Semple yesterday, but the negotiations may be resurrected next week.
