FABIO BORINI is “happy” at Liverpool despite a testing first season at Anfield.

The 21-year-old Italian striker has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign after dislocating his shoulder in the 5-0 win over Swansea City.

Borini joined Liverpool in the summer for £10m but has struggled for fitness and form.

The shoulder problem comes after the former Chelsea player sustained a broken foot in October.

Borini’s agent Marco De Marchi says the forward is feeling down about his latest set-back but despite reported interest from Fiorentina, he is keen to stay on Merseyside.

“Fabio feels depressed after the last injury.

“This is an unfortunate season for him,” Marchi is reported as saying.”

On Fiorentina, he added: “I don’t know anything more than what I have read in newspapers.

“I am certainly glad to see that Fiorentina are building something important.

“But Fabio is happy to be at one of the most prestigious clubs in the world.”
