VAUXHALL MOTORS secured a much-needed victory in their quest for Nationwide Conference North survival.

The Motormen began well from the start, constantly taking the game to their high-flying hosts. Yet, Hyde twice went close before Vauxhall took the lead on 39 minutes when Moogan produced a superb free-kick from 30 yards into the top corner.

It was the same pattern on the resumption and on 58 minutes, the Motormen doubled their advantage as O'Donnell ran clear to lob Tim Dittmer's long ball over the advancing Ndjebayi from fully 25 yards out.

Hyde grabbed a fortunate lifeline when Motors' Phil Brazier hit a strong clearance which rebounded off home player Jones into the net. twelve minutes from time, the Hyde keeper was dismissed for an horrendous tackle on O'Donnell and six minutes later, Garrity seemed to secure the Vauxhall win with a fine drive from 30 yards which left substitute keeper Lynch rooted to the spot.

But Hyde gave themselves hope again with a debut goal from Quayle just three minutes from time and even then, both goals enjoyed a charmed life before the final whistle confirmed three valuable points for Motors.
